Personality

Sun is known to have a stoic yet gentle demeanor, though he has a wild and vicious side to him that often blindsides. He would hold a quiet gaze and a polite little smile, expressive with his hands and less with his words. Uncommonly does he show peaks of emotions, though he remains sincere to his words and actions, especially with those close — though in turn this can mean brutal honesty to some. Only to ones deserving of his trust and respect would he allow himself to laugh louder with, even tease; and to the most beloved reveal his affectionate and sensual self to.However, do not let his reserved mannerisms deceive. Not often disclosed to others, he is one who finds pleasure in getting his hands dirty. He is willing to undertake risky tasks, indifferent and prepared for consequences once his mind is set, all moral ambiguity to behold. Others may find him to be cunning with these habits beneath his dolled exterior.

Appearance

Sun can be most remembered for his aqua eyes that mysteriously shine like opals, as well as the serpent-shaped tattoo on his left cheek inked in his light skin. He keeps his long, dark hair soft to the touch, and upon his head he wears a flower corsage daily, most often a dahlia or a type of lily, preserved by aether to never wilt. The outfits he wears vary on his routine for the day, but he most often prefers elegant and gothic attire and is somewhat obsessive in keeping them in pristine condition. But he has confidence in wearing revealing clothes on occasion. The way in which Sun ideally presents himself can be epitomized as like a beautiful doll.(Details that the game does not provide are that Sun has fully lopped ears and a cotton-like tail.)

I Am That I Am

Remember You Are Dust

The child of a Doman hyur man and a Veena mother gone astray, a musician's love and a summoner's forsaken stone paved way for a wistful life - a long pursuit for purpose and origin.Much like his dear father, music began as his guide and ignition for his soul to take flight. From the Yanxia valleys to the eventual refuge to Eorzean land, the maestro and this young violinist proved their talents for coin from summer to summer and another. Life was simple this way, though surely there had to be more, Sun thought - there must be. The only relic of his mother, the soul stone, kept safe in all their travels remained a sentimental key for Sun. That sentiment, that sting of longing for unattainable memories. It roused an emotion, a desire to walk alone, to dare to take the step to the unknown."Look to the stars if you lose your way," his father would remind the boy, "And from the stars may you find your way home."A trip to Limsa Lominsa for a performance turned later to an introduction with the Arcanist's Guild, and years of intensive study and training for the arcane. Though never was it a means to bring his mother back, his ability to conjure a familiar by use of her stone brought comfort. Named Seren, she would often be seen as a blue morpho butterfly in the day to preserve his aether. But so many forms could his familiar take with each passing year of being culled into battle, even those of that he would never have dreamed before - superior beasts feared and unimaginable to the common folk and those afraid of magic. Fear... Many feared the arcane, the unknown, and his aether allowed him to become it; or rather that it was Bahamut who allowed him.He stepped into the unknown just as he wanted; he felt like he had it all yet there was more he could have. He wanted more. He wanted everything. But what did that all entail? He cannot say, there is no memory of such."Look to the stars," would become the last thought he remembers of that moment. But how could he walk home with his hands tainted? The Arcanist's Guild was no more.

And to Dust You Shall Return

Longing, longing for only more answers to unattainable memories— no, perhaps redemption. For what he could no longer change of the forgotten past, for no salvation could be believed for himself, he had to find something else. Fate for him did not answer the same as it did for his mother; he must live. But to live he wanted to understand death.A covert job of a mortician fell upon his lap, trained and hired by an underground company who found his lost self in the field. For his power was not one to be discovered, especially not by the military nations. They, the Red Room, were the only ones who have proven to keep him and his bloody secret safe. Some would see it as a punishment, touching death after the fact, but for him it was... redemption. Many wanted a deceased loved one to look as they were, be remembered as they were before the inevitable. And that grief made his responsibility feel dire, heartachingly so, but he would achieve such feat. Grief, mourning, sentimentality; that's all it was. They would look beautiful as desired, glow as if still alive, and be adorned with their favorite jewelry. The jewelries in particular was something he had not thought much of prior, not till clients had told him stories of the deceased and their luxuries. Who gave it to them, how long they kept it, what it symbolized; they held meaning and sometimes literally. Could he have such a thing? Could he even make one himself for someone else? That curious tug would lead him to Ul'dah, and he was drawn to a golden locket adorned by a beautiful opal, sold by a forgemaster. For what would become his most precious treasure, the jewelry is considered his protective charm of sorts, and a concept he had fallen enamored with. So much so he sought its maker and practically begged for apprenticeship. He wanted to do more, not just for the dead but for the living.Earned by this passion, Sun has found a place and a family with the Zantetsuken Forge, founded by his mentor and others of skilled trade. Now with his own name as a jeweler, Sun designs and sells an array of lockets among other treasure, hoping that his patrons find comfort in them as he continues to witness with others... in life and after death.

Fleeting Little Dreamlets

The arcane reaper 〉Despite not having involved himself in combat as of late, Sun maintains his strength as a summoner. Anyone who is associated with the Arcanist's Guild is welcome to recognize him, and his morpho familiar can attract quite the attention alone. Interestingly, he also has dabbled with the Reaper's guild. Unlike any other arcanist, he uses a scythe to manipulate aether and manifest beings at his whim.A sentimental seller 〉Sun's neck is always adorned with a particular golden locket. Though he never will reveal its components, it is quite obvious that the jewelry and its hidden treasure is an extremely prized possession. His attachment to the accessory translates to his profession, a renowned jeweler with a special touch for ornate. It can be possible one of your accessories was crafted by him, purchased or personally commissioned. The romance of music 〉Sun is a skilled violinist, and though he not often performs for the public, it is still possible to have heard his melodies in the night. Like a lullaby passing by, his play style expresses gentleness, care, love; his aether woven into the notes brings something of protection to its listeners. Fallgourd Float had been a favorite spot for him and his violin, its inn being something of a special memory to his newfound life in Eorzea as an adolescent. If you had spent a night at The Bobbing Cork, or any inn or pub, it is likely this sweet violinist had given a performance to ease the patrons.Kiss of Leviathan 〉On the left side of Sun's face is a distinct serpent-like tattoo, a signifier of he and his father's new life from Doma to Eorzea. Those born in the Far East and adventurers who have traveled between seas may have seen his face before, though his tattoo by itself is quite the attention grabber.A dear undertaker 〉Though this profession of his is more discreet— and at times criminal, it is still possible yet rare to recognize him for such service. Caring to previous and new clients, Sun undoubtedly does his best work for those who wish to mourn and properly send off a loved one... or even an enemy.

The Creator

Name: Sun
Age: 28+
Pronouns: he/him, they/them
Timezone: PST
Style: Para, multi-para, though I'll mirror the other.
Due to life obligations, I may not always be reliable for more long-term RP. Casual RP in-game is still open to anyone as long as I have the RP tag up, or that you see me at my employed venue, and may very well build from there if it happens.!!! I am only comfortable roleplaying with individuals who are 21+ (OOC and IC), do NOT approach me if you or your character is a minor. I'm not looking for ERP and reserve it only for those closest, despite how playful or flirtatious my OCs may seem and venues you may find me.!!! I will not tolerate any homophobia, transphobia, racism, sexism, and anything hateful or discriminatory whether OOC or IC.!! Sun is multiship. Any ships made are all separate from one another in different AUs. Currently I am not interested in pre-established shipping aside with my IRL partner and my closest friends. I prefer a relationship to come naturally if chemistry proves well, and I do require that we're comfortable OOC first and that you respect Sun's canon and other relationships. If shipping and getting to sleep with Sun is your only goal, the opportunity is completely off the table. Please respect my comfort zone with how I use Sun and don't hold expectations. My OCs do not reflect my personal opinions. I separate IC from OOC!
This should especially be kept in mind with my character Sun, considering the shared name and should not be confused with. Of course, if you have any questions or concerns, please talk to me! ♥

Father

[Summary is a WIP](My OC)

Infra
Voidsent avatar, 13th shard

Further beneath Sun's existence, the transcendence of death, and the void. In Sun's time with the Red Room, the teachings of a reaper whispered through its halls until they fell upon his ears. In his contract to an avatar, this chosen voidsent was his own distant shard of the Thirteenth; but such affair with this aetheric vampyre extended more to a pact of sorts. The deal is a trade of life: if Sun were to succumb to a tragic fate, Infra would gain all control of his vessel but at the expense of no memory.(My OC, an extension of Sun)

Leika Ancariis
Sibling figure, bodyguard

An androgynous Viera native to Dalmasca, born from a tribe of nocturnal Rava and known to be their most lethal. Originally hired by Yokori to guard Sun, they have formed a naturally protective friendship with the man, and eventually more of a familial tie to become part of the Ancariis name. Sun is one of the only few to know their secrets and true capabilities, which he swore to never tell a soul.(My OC)

Danse Macabre

'Acheron' Hati Rehw-nong
🎔 Significant other, superior

The beast to the beauty, and a hunter to a fellow hunter. Hati, or 'Acheron' as he is titled, is a dangerous man capable of ripping under Sun's skin, yet instead he found his way into Sun's every desire. The two see each other to be strikingly alike and in the mind of the other, alarmingly synchronized, and within it blooms an aching affection— one that constantly starves. Like Sun, Hati also works for a funeral parlor with its fair share of deeply buried criminal secrets, both specialized in embalming to falsify even their own sins. With knowledge of Sun's bloody work and morals, Hati has taken in Sun to be a mortician and beautician of his parlor too, the now subordinate directly reporting for Acheron as his 'Erinyes' and assistant. Although the business relationship had forced a shift in their dynamic, the two continue to selfishly walk with their aching love; a picture-perfect pair to that of a wolf and lamb in love.

'Patroclus' Gatoru Sojo
Colleague, complicated

The previous Phlegethon. One of the men who oversaw Sun's interview into the funeral parlor, and one with a mutual disdain. Despite his boisterous, extravagant, and questionable behavior as once a leader among the syndicate, Sun initially had been stubborn to merely laugh him off as a mockery. But since the man's step down from House lord to lamb, the two have restarted with a clean slate and fresh conversations.

The Forge

Lukkas Einherjar
Best friend, Forge mentor

One of the founders of the Zantetsuken Forge and the man responsible for training Sun in goldsmithing, Lukkas is someone he highly looks up to, albeit one he loves to tease at any given chance. Their meeting is something that Sun will forever cherish and one that he can laugh about, considering the man's initial laziness to take him as an apprentice till forced by his senior. The two are quite opposite in their mannerisms and language, often making a playful comment at the other for it, but their fun dynamic holds their friendship strongly linked. Sun lovingly torments him with silly straws.

Mana'to Zhenjho
Best friend, Forge colleague

Another founder of the Zantetsuken Forge and a skittish companion. Sun holds much endearment towards Mana'to, or as he often will call him 'Mana,' and openly expresses it by being physically affectionate with him. Sun enjoys listening to his rambles of his research, experiments, and enthusiasm for all things Allagan; a return of the favor for Mana's excitement for things Sun partakes in as well. He hopes to be able to give a push in Mana's confidence, or as Mana will put it, 'teach him how to be suave.'

Yonah Solh
Forge manager

Strange and stranger, but one whom Sun expresses undying gratitude for. Had it not been for Yonah, perhaps Sun would not be a jeweler nor would he have made many lifelong friends thanks to the Forge. Yonah is a distributor for the company and still quite the mystery. No one ever knows when he will appear.

Outer Timelines

Yokori Waspria
🎔 Significant other

One of the first trusted friends Sun bonded with, Yokori is a lieutenant in the Maelstrom who often harbors over-protectiveness for Sun and other lovers. Initially being a guide of sorts around the coast, Sun managed to look past his rugged and aggressive appearance, cherishing every moment spent with him before realizing any feelings. The two along with Hip create an interesting dynamic, all rather unique and opposite of the other next to them, but the three share a very pleasant open relationship.(My OC)

Hip Ehrlich
🎔 Significant other

A reserved conjurer and artist, Hip is the one responsible for saving Sun's life during the Calamity, though the summoner's memory of the events are a blur. The two meet again in the future through his connection to Yokori, both eventually having a comfortable and open romantic relationship with the lieutenant. Their own bond pieced together well in a fairly short amount of time, having a sense of familiarity and a desire to see the other's face more and more; there was a mutual wish to become much closer than a simple friendship. Along with Yokori, the three are in a polyamorous relationship. Beneath Hip's exterior however is an enkindled soul, a mysterious power far beyond one's comprehension, but one that intrigues Sun.

Yaka Heza
Metamour, friend

M'yaka, or simply 'Yaka' as Sun endearingly calls her, is another one of Hip's partners and caretaker of April. Sun later meets this ex-soldier to form a bond with all whom Hip loves, and the two easily build a friendship through small social outings. Sun has taken a liking to crafting little adorned trinkets for her.

April Ehrlich
Step daughter

The daughter of Hip, a bundle of joy and curiosity, and no doubt a little blessing wherever she goes. Sun has built a connection with her through their shared interest in minerals and gemstones, teaching her what he knows. A necklace that April wears is crafted by Sun, one that was specially requested by Hip.

Coy Velde
Friend(?)

A cold, enigmatic Viera once seen in passing through Sun's musical days in Gridania, beautiful to the eye but barely known yet. It would come as a surprise though that the two are rather similar, cruel under a pretty face, though what separates them is their value for real connections. While Sun requires to know more of him, there is a strange solidarity between the pair to air dirty laundry together with no remorse.

Clawdia Dupuis
Friend, personal tailor

Someone of refined taste and skill must surely be responsible for Sun's polished wardrobe. No doubt, it is in the hands of this equally polished lady. For quite a few moons did their connection remain purely transactional, but repeated visits and only the most pleasant of encounters naturally spurred a growing admiration. Between Sun and Clawdia is a warm friendship, and while he holds trust for her, he has no intention to bring her involved in the dirty work beneath his everyday elegance.

Calius Lavrin
Friend

A lost and rather clumsy Xaela that Sun and Hip found unconscious at the Sapsa Spawning Grounds. Their meeting occurred by following a bulletin written by a presumed researcher requesting aid and protection from danger - however, it seemed they were too late. Befriending Calius, or Lavrin as he is currently known, Sun is in the process of helping him regain his memories... as well as attempting to keep him out of all the trouble he gets himself in.
